Sometimes a repayment claim needs to be undone.

This can be done on Fund Filer at the draft stage and after a repayment claim has been submitted.

Unlocking draft claims

A draft claim is one where the basic data for the claim has been prepared and the underlying donations locked to prevent them being claimed upon again. Some users like to pause at the draft stage, often for a second look or to check data before completing the submission process.

If you decide you wish to start again, find the claim under ‘List Reclaims’ in the claiming section of Fund Filer.

Drafts appear with purple headers.

To unlock, click the link marked ‘Delete this draft’. The donation records will be released back into the database and you can begin again with your repayment claim.

Unlocking submitted claims

This is a much more serious matter than unlocking a draft. It should only be done if you are really clear on why you are doing it. Normally the only good reason is if the claim has failed, for example due to names not matching or some form of ineligibility.

In any other circumstances, unlocking donations you have already claimed upon is hazardous, not to be recommended and could result on a duplicate claim and requirement to pay the money back.

To unlock a submitted claim, find the claim under ‘List Reclaims’ in the claiming section of Fund Filer.

Submitted claims appear with green headers.

Select the link marked ‘HMRC submission’. This takes you to a status page. A small green link appears in the final sentence ‘unlock it’. A confirmation message will be shown. Confirm you wish to unlock and the claim will return to draft status.
